: a chronic inflammatory disease of the mucosa of the respiratory tract and especially the nasal cavity that is caused by infection with a bacterium of the genus Klebsiella (K. rhinoscleromatis) and is marked by granulomatous swelling with the formation of rubbery nodules followed by sclerosis of tissue
